Mumbai, 24th May, 2024: Star Gold brings the world TV premiere of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, starring pan-India superstars Prabhas and Prithviraj this weekend. The epic saga of power, bloodshed, and betrayal unfolds against the backdrop of a violently contested kingdom, hinging on the bond between two friends-turned-foes.

Directed by the acclaimed Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda, Salaar: Part 1 is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language action film. The ensemble cast features Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu. Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, the film follows the friendship between Deva (Prabhas) and Varadha (Prithviraj). Varadha enlists Deva's help to reclaim his throne from his treacherous father's ministers and relatives.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked Prasar Bharati to respond to the suggestion of ESPN and STAR India to start a Doordarshan channel devoted to the ongoing Cricket World Cup, covering nine matches that India plays.
