Hindi General Entertainment Channels (GECs), try to stay as far from reality as possible, unless it is reality television, which is actually a wholly concocted version of reality, often stranger than fiction.
The year began with Star Plus at the top with 25 per cent channel share, well ahead of Colors and Zee which were quite behind with 17 and 16 per cent share respectively.
