In it’s endeavour to live up to its brand philosophy of “Chalo Paltai” and celebrating “Notun Bangali” Star Jalsha presents a new show – Kanamachi that’s thrilling, edgy and unique. The serial showcases the female lead character, Kotha as Bengali GEC’s first woman Robinhood. This is a love & chase story between a perfect cop, who has sworn to abolish crime, and a perfect con who is ready to con the corrupt rich to help the poor.
Katha, a 21 year old, smart, intelligent, convent educated beautiful girl is the captain of a con team. She along with Sania, Tina, Jijo, Poda and Sid who have been cheated and manipulated by the wealthy and rich of the society, have taken the oath of conning the rich and wealthy, only to benefit the poor and the needy.
The mastermind of this team is a person called ‘Master’. He was an honest police officer, who suffered suspension from the Police Department as he became the victim of manipulation by a senior Police Inspector who conspired against him to save a wealthy fraud industrialist. Since then humiliating and challenging the Police Department and conning the opportunist wealthy class has been his only mission.
Abhimanyu is a young, energetic & honest Police officer, who is sworn to abolish crime and make the city a safer place. To get to the bottom of the recent spate of con robberies in the city, he plants himself in the Robinhood team and slowly gains their trust. However, as days go by and he comes closer to everyone in the team he slowly learns their harsh past. He falls in love with Katha and finally decides to bring her back into the mainstream.

Story Concept – Star Jalsha
Produced By : Raj Chakraborty - one of the most successful filmmakers in Tollywood. He has got 8 blockbuster films to his credit and his association with Star Jalsha goes long back in the year 2009, when he had produced one of our shows named ‘I Laugh You’.
Directed By : Abhimanyu Mukherjee – an associate director of Star Jalsha’s “I laugh you”. He is also well known as a writer for Proloy Asche, Bojhena Se Bojhena & Kanamachi to name a few. Abhimanyu Mukherjee wasn't just the scriptwriter for Raj Chakrabarty's Kanamachi but also acted in the film. Now, he is all set to direct this new serial for Star Jalsha titled Kanamachi.
Music Director: Devjit Roy – a name associated with a number of hit serials like Bahnishikha, Rajeshwari , Raage Anuraage and so on.
Rajanarayan Deb (title track only) – is a renowned young music director & background music composer of this time. His discography includes music from films Khela, Noukadubi, Bhooter Bhabishyat and many more. He has worked in number of Bengali movies and a couple of Hindi films as well.
Singer : Timir – a young upcoming talented singer who made his breakthrough in the film industry with the super hit title track of Dui Prithibi. He is also a lead singer of the band Fakira.
